Attic Insulation in Annapolis, MD

Joanne had been experiencing some uncomfortable temperatures in her Annapolis, MD home. She took the smart first step of contacting us to figure out what the issue was and have us fix it! Our Home Comfort Specialist, Ben, arrived and inspected the attic to find out where her uncomfortable temperatures were coming from. After investigating, Ben found that her current insulation level was not up to modern standards and recommended getting some work done in her attic to help alleviate her temperature issues. Our Home Comfort Technicians came out and started with air sealing her attic to get rid of any air leakage and installing baffles to allow the attic to get ventilation after we blow the attic with brand new cellulose. The crew then spray-foamed her exposed ductwork to eliminate any future moisture issues. The final step was to install the new cellulose insulation.

Joanne felt an immediate difference after the crews finished the job and was pleased with the results!

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Shady Side, MD

This homeowner in Shady Side was experiencing cold floors and moisture in their crawl space causing the first floor of their home to feel muggy. They were smart to call the professionals at Complete Home Solutions to make their uncomfortable home feel more comfortable! Our Home Comfort Specialist, Ben, visited to assess their crawlspace and determined that the homeowner needed a complete encapsulation to combat the moisture and cold floors. Ben recommended that our Home Comfort Technicians come out to fix her crawl issues. The crew started by removing all old insulation and debris from the crawl, followed by installing a sump pump to remove standing water and decrease the amount of moisture. After that, the crew installed 20 mil. vapor barrier to keep the moisture emitting from the ground from reaching the living space. The last step is to have our Spray Foam Specialists spray two inches of foam onto the walls of the crawlspace to complete the encapsulation.

The homeowner noticed an immediate difference and enjoyed their warm floors and moisture-free home!

Cellulose Insulation in Friendship, MD

This homeowner recently bought a house in Friendship, Maryland and was giving it a complete renovation. He was smart enough to know that a critical part of his renovation would be weatherizing his house – air sealing and insulating. After looking through a few different companies, he chose Complete Home Solution to perform this crucial job.

We climbed up into the attic and did what we needed to do. We constructed an insulation dam around the attic hatch, air sealed all attic penetrations, and installed TruSoft cellulose insulation. After his renovations are done, this homeowner will have a house that looks nice and feels wonderful!

Crawl Space Encapsulated in Germantown, MD

These homeowners had just recently purchased their house in Germantown. As the good homeowners that they are, they had a thorough home inspection done prior to moving in. One of the things that the home inspector noted was the lack of insulation in the crawl space. Such a crawl space can lead to discomfort issues, health problems, and unreasonable utility bills.

The homeowners requested a CHS home comfort specialist come out to their new house and give them the best solutions for their crawl space. What we did for them was to bring their crawl space into the building envelope (preventing unwanted air from leaking into the living space from the crawl). We did this by applying a vapor barrier on the floor and up the walls (sealing along the edges) and applying closed-cell spray foam insulation on the walls. These homeowners are now ready to move into their newly comfortable home!

Rim and Band Joist Treatment in North Potomac, MD

This homeowner in North Potomac asked us for help with advice on making their home more comfortable and advice on how to keep the home at a more stable temperature.  They were interested in having their attic and crawl space assessed.  Our energy auditor, Merv, visited the home and discussed solutions with these homeowners.  One of the recommendations was to air seal the rim and band joists in the basement area with 3" of closed cell spray foam insulation.  As you can see by the pictures, the rim and band joists were not air sealed prior to our work on the home.  We sealed and insulated the rim joists which are major sources of heat loss in the home.  This will make their home more energy efficient and comfortable and help keep the temperature in the house more even!
