We could tell after talking with Linda and then with Merv on the phone (even before we met with him) that they ran a very tight ship and were extremely professional. And that they really knew their stuff! Being so available for questions, quick with responses was really appreciated. We could tell they knew what they were doing! It was in an investment, but so worth it!! So happy we hired them.

I had the pleasure of meeting 4 of your employees today. I opened up my home to them and was very comfortable doing so. TJ, Tinder, Alex, and Larry were friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and answered every single question I had. They wiped their feet, kept my yard and home free of debris as they worked along. Even though it was 140 degrees in my attic, they didn't complain - they air sealed and insulated my attic on a very hot day. I felt like they utilized the time here in a very responsible manner. They made one heck of a team. The entire process has been a complete blessing. Thank you!

New Attic Insulation in Bethesda, MD

This beautiful home in Bethesda, Maryland was suffering from drafty rooms and high utility bills. The homeowner called Complete Home Solutions to see if we could help with their comfort problems.

We came out and performed a Home Energy Audit to try and pinpoint the problem. What we found was that the attic was way under-insulated. So, we took out the old insulation that the was already in the attic that was no longer working efficiently. After that, we were able to install polysio foam board on the knee walls and TruSoft Cellulose insulation all along the attic space, bringing insulation levels to R-49 (which is the recommended BPI standard for our climate zone). After these installations, the home owner no longer suffers from drafty rooms and feels comfortable in their home!

This customer of ours had some work done with us a few years ago. So, when a new insulation project came up, he knew who to come to for a quality job. He had built a new addition onto his house and wanted to make sure that it was properly insulated before finishing it.

Our home comfort specialist provided the homeowner with a few solutions to achieve this. They ultimately chose one that we felt was the best option - applying spray foam to the walls, rims and bands was a great way to make sure the new addition was effectively air sealed as well as insulated. The homeowner can now enjoy his new space comfortably.

Insufficient Attic Insulation in Beltsville, MD

This home in Beltsville, Maryland had insufficient attic insulation and significant air leaks in the home. The homeowners called Complete Home Solutions to find the source of the home's problems. Our Auditor inspected the home and determined that the problem was caused by air leaks in the attic allowing the flow of inside and outside air through the house. To make the home more energy efficient, our crews removed the existing insulation and used spray foam insulation on the walls to insulate and air seal the attic. They replaced the insulation with Trusoft blown-in cellulose insulation which is a greener and more energy efficient solution.

Attic Cellulose Insulation in Glenarden, MD

Attic insulation can make a huge difference in a home's comfort, which this homeowner was quick to find out. She and her kids suffered through very cold winters where they had to crank up a few space heaters (which cranked up their electric bill). Wanting to finally be warm this winter, she called Complete Home Solutions

Our Home Comfort Specialist found that the attic was the primary cause behind this family's freezing cold winters. The lack of air sealing  and insulation was allowing all of their warm, conditioned air to leak right out of the attic. Luckily, this was a pretty easy fix for CHS. We sealed the attic and applied blown in cellulose insulation. This family can put away the heaters this year, because their home will be nice and toasty!

Not only was the insulation in the crawl space insufficient. it was installed improperly or upside down!  In conjunction with an ineffective vapor, the entire crawl space was contaminated with organic growth.  Allowing unhealthy air to penetrate into the home.

We removed the contaminated insulation and installed a new airtight barrier to help prevent groundwater infiltration.  After properly treating the crawl space, new insulation was installed to create a thermal barrier to help keep the floor above more comfortable.

Closed Cell Cellulose Insulation in Bryans Road, MD

This home in Bryans Road, Maryland was really unprepared for the cooler weather that we were going to get this winter. The homeowner and his family were annoyed by the constant cold drafts that they kept feeling throughout the house.  Complete Home Solutions was able to provide this family with solutions that would keep them warm.

The biggest issue we found with this house was the attic. When you don't have air sealing and you don't have enough good insulation, you are basically allowing for your warm air to escape up and out through your attic. If we can stop that, we can give you a much more comfortable home.

New Vapor Barrier Install in Glenn Dale, MD

This homeowner from Glenn Dale, Maryland had some weatherization work done in her crawl space some time ago. However, she didn't get everything that she wanted done. There was foam board insulation in the ceiling, but that was it. She asked us to come out and do a little more work for her.

We found that the old vapor barrier that was down there was basically in shambles. So, our main project was to install a new vapor barrier. When we did this, we made sure to run the barrier up the walls and seal it air tight. The homeowner was extremely satisfied with our work and looks forward to calling us for her next project.

Poor air sealing and/or insulation in your attic can mean that your house is seriously lacking in terms of efficiency, comfort, and health. Such was the case with this customer. We needed to add quite a bit of air sealing around this attic's floor boards and joists in order to bring it up to standard. We also added our blown-in cellulose insulation. It's amazing what a big difference these two things can make! We're happy to add another satisfied customer to our list!

New Attic Insulation in Accokeek, MD

This home in Accokeek, Maryland was suffering from extremely drafty rooms. During the winter months, this meant cold rooms and high utility bills. The homeowner didn't know what they could do to fix this problem... but Complete Home Solutions did.

We started out by giving a Home Energy Audit. With this, we could pin point where the problem areas in the house were. The attic was our biggest concern. There was little to no insulation, and the insulation that was there was ratty and torn apart (essentially useless). So, we tore out any of the old insulation, air sealed any of the ductwork that was up there, and installed TruSoft Cellulose insulation. It's amazing how almost immediately the homeowner could feel the difference. You may not ever go up to your attic, but trust us, what's up there matters!

This homeowner had an unfinished basement that he was looking to work on. Before he started anything, he wanted to make sure that his walls were insulated right (you definitely don't want to wait until you've dry walled to realize your basement is too cold). Complete Home Solutions came out to check it out. As you can see, there was insulation in the walls, but there was no air sealing. When you have just insulation you're not actually stopping the cold air from coming in. To do this we needed to take out that BATT insulation and apply our closed cell spray foam (which air seals and insulates at the same time).  Now this basement is ready to rock n' roll for whatever plans the homeowner has for it.

This client had an attic with no air sealing and insufficient insulation. That is a bad combination that can lead to tons of air leakage and discomfort in the home. What can we do to fix this? Well, our crew started by air sealing the attic. This means that we closed up any openings or exposures in the attic floor with caulk and also applied polysio foam board to the attic walls. Now that we've created an airtight barrier, our next step is to install new, durable insulation. We chose to blow in closed-cell cellulose insulation. By making these improvements, we have given our client the control to be comfortable in his home!

This homeowner noticed that he didn't have a lot of insulation in his attic and knew that it must have been affecting his home's comfort. He asked Complete Home Solutions to come take a look and see if there was anything else that could be done to make his attic more energy efficient.

We sent out one of our home comfort specialists to take a look. He found that the attic could've, indeed, used more insulation but it also could've used some serious air sealing. This involved us installing spray foam insulation and caulk around penetrations and cavities (such as ceiling fixture penetrations) in order to prevent air leakage. We also provided a few other smaller solutions to complete the effect. Ultimately, this homeowner gained a more comfortable, less expensive house.

This homeowner living in Davidsonville, Maryland was experiencing a lot of discomfort in her home. She was experiencing a lot of those symptoms that many homeowners can relate to: drafty rooms, cold floors, inconsistent temperatures throughout the house, etc. Luckily she had heard about Complete Home Solutions and was willing to give us a try.

We came out to her house and performed a Home Energy Audit to figure out what we could do to help fix the situation. The diagnosis, which is often the case in many houses, was a poorly insulated attic. We got to work and made sure that this problem wouldn’t continue. We treated the attic hatch, air sealed all the attic penetrations and ductwork, and insulated the attic with TruSoft cellulose. Now, this homeowner can rest assured that her house will be comfortable this winter (and save a pretty penny in utility bills too!).

Air Sealed Crawl Space in Millersville, MD

This house in Millersville, Maryland was having a hard time keeping all of its rooms a constant temperature. The upstairs would be hot while the downstairs would be freezing. The homeowner heard that there were companies who fixed these kinds of problems and among them he found Complete Home Solutions. Our auditor won him over with his attention to detail and ability to explain things in understandable terms.

Once there, we discovered that his crawl space was not up to snuff. There was no air sealing, no vapor barrier, and the duct work was left exposed. All of these things were contributing to the homeowner's discomfort. We fixed these problems by sealing off all openings in the crawl with polysio foam board and spray foam/caulk, installing a 6 mil vapor barrier, and insulating the duct work with spray foam. Now that he has a crawl space has stopped letting cold air flood in, the homeowner can enjoy a comfortable temperature no matter where he is in his house.

Crawl Space Air Sealing in Crownsville, MD

This homeowner in Crownsville, Maryland had an issue keeping his house warm in the winter months (a problem a lot of homeowners can relate to). Unlike most homeowners, though, he was smart enough to call Complete Home Solutions to help him fix his problem.

We found that the crawl space was allowing for a lot of air to leak into the house. What do we do about something like this? It is very important that we air seal the crawl walls (we use a spray foam to do this) and install a new vapor barrier. In addition to these upgrades, we also installed a dehumidification system (that blue box in the after picture). The crawl space can now work effectively to keep the air in this home healthy and comfortable.

In this case, our client was experiencing an extremely cold draft from their basement area. Spots like the one featured in this picture is where a lot of that outdoor air is creeping in from. We were able to fix this area by applying spray foam (which air seals and insulates at the same time). Techniques like this allow us to create a comfortable and healthy home for our clients.

This crawl space was somewhat insulated, but the homeowners still felt cold air and moisture coming from it. They called Complete Home Solutions to find a fix to their problem.

In doing this, we were able to keep the cold air and moisture from infiltrating the crawl space and ultimately the living space. The end result is a much more comfortable home for this couple.

The crawl space plays a very important role in the comfort of your home. This is where cold air seeps into your house from, bringing along with it all of the unhealthy air that has been accumulating down there. As you can imagine, if it's left untreated, there can be a lot of potential consequences to your health as well as to your house. This homeowner knew that he couldn't take on the task of treating his crawl space on his own, so he hired an expert to do it for him.

Our home comfort specialist (as well as our crew) was eager to help this homeowner. This couple had lived in their home in Dunkirk for over 30 years. These past few winters, they had noticed that it was increasingly harder to keep their home warm. When they realized that this winter was definitely going to be very cold compared to previous years, they went ahead and took action, calling up a nearby home comfort expert to help make their home more comfortable.

Complete Home Solutions was happy to come out and take a look for these homeowners. We found that updating their attic  would make an immense difference to their home's comfort. They had some old BATT insulation that met insulation standards years ago when it was only set at R-19, which has since risen to at least R-49. We added in blown in cellulose insulation to rectify this. We also went through and air sealed many openings, gaps and penetrations that were contributing to all of that warm air sneaking out of the house. After 30 something years of living in this house, these homeowners are now more comfortable than ever!

This homeowner in Huntingtown, Maryland was worried about this upcoming winter. They were nervous because every winter meant cold rooms and astronomical utility bills for them. They got into contact with Complete Home Solutions this year, and it may have been the best decision they ever made.

We first gave them a Home Energy Audit to figure out where the main source of discomfort was coming from. As is often the case, the attic was the main culprit. There was not nearly enough insulation up there, and what was there was old and worn out. All of their warm air was just escaping up and out of the attic. Fortunately, we know exactly how to fix situations like this one. We start of by clearing out the old insulation, we then air seal any attic penetrations that may be allowing air to leak out, and we then install our TruSoft Cellulose insulation. Now that we have properly weatherized this house's attic, the homeowners no longer have to dread winter!
