Mold can cause health issues and allergies. If not visible, mold can be detected by a musty smell.

4. Watch out for fragranced products.

Be sure to do your research when purchasing fragranced products. They can potentially be harmful.

5. Research when remodeling.

When make renovations on your home, stick with solid wood rather than pressed or composite wood. It can also be beneficial to use an air purifier to keep the air clean.

6. Be smart about chemical flame retardants.

You can do this by limiting electronics your children’s rooms because they contain chemical flame retardants, purchasing mattresses that are flame retardant, and consistently dusting and vacuuming.

7. Be careful when choosing cleaning products.

Many chemical products contain harmful chemicals. Sometimes baking soda or vinegar mixed with  lemon juice can do the trick.

8. Avoid harmful ingredients when buying self-care products.

Double check the ingredients in your self-care products and do your research. It’s very common for these products to contain harmful chemicals.

9. Reduce allergy problems.

Pay attention to what triggers your allergies. Mold, dust, unfiltered water, cleaning products, and many other things can trigger your allergies.

10. Purchase plants.

Having plants inside and outside your home can filter your air and make it healthier for you to breathe in.
