This home had a super deck that was falling apart, as well as very little insulation on the attic floor, and deteriorating insulation around the air ducts. Our Home Comfort Specialist recommended spray foaming the air ducts, restricting any air from leaking out of the ducts, while also keeping the ducts at a consistent temperature. The next step was blowing in a new layer of Cellulose insulation overtop of the existing cellulose to create a 16in blanket of insulation, this helps trap the conditioned air where it belong, in the house.  We finished this attic by installing a new super deck which now along makes this attic more energy efficient, but also a workable storage area.

After hearing about the BGE Home Energy Audit program, Arthur called Complete Home Solutions to give his home a full evaluation. After looking over the whole house including several key systems, our Home Comfort Specialist recommended air sealing the attic and making sure the insulation was up to code. On the day of the job, our Home Comfort Technicians began air sealing the attic with fire block spray foam.  The spray foam is applied to our recessed light covers, top plates, and any outlets in the attic to ensure that the air you pay to heat or cool stays in the living space of your home. The next step in this attic was to vent the bath fans out through the roof. If your fans are not vented properly, it can create moisture issues in your attic. The final step of this attic project was to blow in new Cellulose insulation, which creates a 16 inch barrier between the attic condition and the rest of your home.
