hi, my name is Jack! I joined Complete Home Solutions in June 2017. Before that, I worked as a teacher. I received a bachelor’s degree in education. I also worked in the construction industry, where I gained hands-on building experience. This experience helped me to better understand what areas of your home you can save energy and money on. I decided that working one on one with people to help solve their home comfort issues was my passion.
My day to day job consists of meeting with homeowners, inspecting and diagnosing their home comfort issues. I really enjoy getting to meet new people every day!
In my spare time, I enjoy spending with my wife, April, and young daughter. I also enjoy sports and being outdoors. I am a huge Washington sports fan! ALL CAPS!
This customer of ours was a brand new homeowner - he had just purchased his house about a month before contacting us. Of course he had a home inspector check the house out and make sure that everything was squared away. One thing that the inspector found was that there was insufficient insulation and air sealing. He wanted to hire a reliable company to fix this for them.
He hired Complete Home Solutions to take care of his new home! As a part of our solution for him, we air sealed the attic and applied fresh cellulose insulation. The customer also had a specific request for ventilation - he wanted a solar powered attic fan. We were more than happy to oblige and had that installed as well. He can now expect to move into a comfortable home at an affordable cost.
This homeowner had just had some energy efficiency improvements done - new windows, new door, new HVAC unit etc. She thought that there would be a massive difference in her energy use after getting these things done, but was shocked to find that there really wasn't that big of a difference! Frustrated, she decided to look up a local energy efficiency expert and found Complete Home Solutions.
We sent out one of our Home Comfort Experts to do an analysis of the house and figure out where this homeowner was losing energy. He found that while she was making those other energy efficiency upgrades she had neglected to treat one of the most important areas in her house...the attic! The attic's air sealing and insulation levels (which is now recommended to reach at least R-49) had never been upgraded. After explaining this to the homeowner, she had us go ahead and make those improvements. She was more than pleased at how much energy her home was using by the time we were done!
The crawl space plays a very important role in the comfort of your home. This is where cold air seeps into your house from, bringing along with it all of the unhealthy air that has been accumulating down there. As you can imagine, if it's left untreated, there can be a lot of potential consequences to your health as well as to your house. This homeowner knew that he couldn't take on the task of treating his crawl space on his own, so he hired an expert to do it for him.
Our home comfort specialist (as well as our crew) was eager to help this homeowner. Treating this crawl space mainly involved applying caulk, foam board, and spray foam for air sealing and installing a vapor barrier. All of this was done to create a healthier and more comfortable home - mission accomplished!
This homeowner had a crawl space underneath his house that was very poorly treated. What did this mean for him? Cold rooms, higher electric bills, and poor indoor air quality. He called out our home comfort specialist to provide some solutions on how to help with this situation.
Based on our home visit, we determined that the most effective way to treat this crawl space was to install a vapor barrier and air seal the walls with closed cell spray foam. These measures would stop undesirable air from leaking into the living area (which is what was ultimately causing those issues listed before). This homeowner can now enjoy healthy, happy, and comfortable living in their home.
This homeowner knew that he needed some work done in his crawl space - he knew that he needed a vapor barrier and a solution for his cold floors. While researching different companies who could help him with this, he came across Complete Home Solutions. After looking at our different reviews and talking with one of our home comfort specialists on the phone, he decided to have us fix his uncomfortable home.
Installing the vapor barrier was a big part of the solution that we provided for his crawl space, but we also applied spray foam insulation to the rim joists and penetrations and installed fiberglass batt insulation into crawl ceiling. These measures work to air seal and insulate the crawl space - consequently creating a more comfortable living space. This homeowner was happy that he chose an experienced home comfort expert to help him with his crawl space.
