Attic Insulation in Waldorf, MD

Krista recently noticed that her energy bills were getting higher and higher, even during the periods of the year when she had seen drops in the past. To get some answers she called Complete Home Solutions for a Home Energy Audit. Our Home Comfort Specialist conducted the audit and noticed that her ductwork in the attic of the home was not treated, and she had old batt insulation in the attic as well. These two problems were a red flag that needed to be addressed. With no insulation around the ductwork, her HVAC system was working overtime to keep the house filled with comfortable air. This problem occurs when air leaks out of your ductwork and doesn't make it efficiently into your vents, as well as causing air to condensate during the summer months.

The old insulation in the attic was covering up problems as well. The attic had not been air sealed which allows the conditioned air to escape the living area and exit the home through the attic.

On the day of the installation, our Home Comfort Technicians removed the old batt insulation before using our 2 part closed cell spray foam to seal the ductwork. They then air sealed any top plates recessed lights, and outlet covers to prevent air from escaping the home. The final step was to blow in new Cellulose insulation in the attic to properly insulate the area to current standards.
