Ways to Save Energy During Holiday Gatherings

- If you plan to celebrate the holiday with a tree then keep the lights off in the room where the tree is lit. If you plan on using the room where the tree is lit then limit the light usage, use natural lighting, or use candles or a fireplace to light the room.

- Decorate your home at the holiday party with candles. You can use winter themed and scented candles to light your home for a festive feeling and to save energy.

- Turn the thermostat down when company is over. Having extra bodies in your home heats your home naturally without having to turn up the thermostat for your guests.

- When picking out a holiday gift for friends or family try to pick a gift that won't use batteries or electricity.

- If you're looking for a holiday lights spectacle during your holiday party, take a walk instead of driving in a car.  You will get some exercise as well as save energy.
