As Earth Day festivities commence, there are many ways to celebrate Earth Day! Earth Day is an annual event meant to raise awareness of the environment.
Earth Day is also a call-to-action to us all to ensure we leave the planet in better condition than we found it. In 1970, the year of the first Earth Day, the Earth Day movement gave an important voice to environmental awareness!
47 years later, Earth Day is more than just a single day!
Earth Day is also a great opportunity to celebrate with our families.
Here are some fun things to do:
Plant a Garden, this is a great way to introduce kids to the concept of local and organic foods by planting a garden together. Families get to see the result of their hard work with a great payoff in seeing vegetables sprout. Plus planting greenery helps to use up some of the extra CO2.
Planting trees, Trees help absorb excess and harmful CO2 from our atmosphere. Trees also help us breathe clean air. Take a family picture when you plant your tree and take a new picture annually. Each year you can take a picture to monitor the growth your tree has made and see how your family has grown up too over the last year! Start a family tradition by planting trees on Earth Day!
Watch our blog every day this week for ways to make your home and the world a little greener!
What a wonderful and beautiful week to Enjoy Earth Day!
