Attic Insulation Before & After Photos

This homeowner recently bought a house in Friendship, Maryland and was giving it a complete renovation. He was smart enough to know that a critical part of his renovation would be weatherizing his house – air sealing and insulating. After looking through a few different companies, he chose Complete Home Solution to perform this crucial job.

We climbed up into the attic and did what we needed to do. We constructed an insulation dam around the attic hatch, air sealed all attic penetrations, and installed TruSoft cellulose insulation. After his renovations are done, this homeowner will have a house that looks nice and feels wonderful! 

This home in Rockville, Maryland suffered from uncomfortable temperatures in the home this winter.The homeowner called Complete Home Solutions to find the source of the issue. Our Auditor determined that the home had insufficient insulation which was causing the uncomfortable temperatures and cold drafts.

Our Production Team used blow in cellulose insulation to bring the insulation levels up to Dr. Energy Saver's suggested levels.

We came out and performed a Home Energy Audit to try and pinpoint the problem. What we found was that the attic was way under-insulated. So, we took out the old insulation that the was already in the attic that was no longer working efficiently. After that, we were able to install polysio foam board on the knee walls and TruSoft Cellulose insulation all along the attic space, bringing insulation levels to R-49 (which is the recommended BPI standard for our climate zone). After these installations, the home owner no longer suffers from drafty rooms and feels comfortable in their home!

After coming out to do an estimate on this home, our Home Comfort Specialist determined that the problem was coming from the moisture in the attic which was causing insulation to sag and become ineffective. Our Production Team came out and used blown-in cellulose to insulation the attic and making it more effective. The customer is now experiencing lower energy bills and feels more comfortable within their home due to less air leakage.

Our home comfort specialist found that air sealing and insulating the attic would be the most effective way to reach this client's needs. We air sealed any open cavities (that means rim and band joists, ceiling fixture penetrations, top plates, etc) and blew in enough cellulose insulation to bring levels up to R-49. This new homeowner will be moving into a house that is both energy efficient and comfortable.
